Hey everyone. This is my first post here, and I just wanted to share a few pictures of my friends band. I am an amateur photographer with plans on attending Brooks Institute of Photography in Santa Barbara, CA next year.
Anyway I'll shut up and post some pictures...

I like the B&W conversions.
Last one I'd have preferred focus on the face.

Yeah, that shot happened pretty quickly. I didn't have very much time to compose it, and unfortunately it focused on his guitar rather than his face.

Very good detail shots. Now time to work on performance shots.

That is why I rarely use AF... for the most part, it's manual focus, for me. I find that auto focus isn't always reliable on focusing on what you want it to focus on.
Other than that, these shots would look great in the CD liner notes!

Here are a few more. The lighting and composition aren't the greatest, but they are still decent shots.

The shots aren't too bad to me, but I get the impression they are taken by someone who hasn't quite worked out their "thing" yet, and thus are a bit experimental and not as polished as they could be. But that seems to be where you're at, and there's nothing wrong with that.

Haha that is pretty much exactly where I'm at. I shoot mostly as a hobby, and I'll be going to photography school next year. I'll find my groove very shortly after starting school.
