Great shots. Nice to see some variety in the sports column. I hope to get out to a ice racing event on a local lake soon.

Great shots!!! Are those the bikes that use spikes for traction? I'd hate to fall off and have another rider use my body for better grip.

Ahh ice bike racing.. when too much stupidity is barely enough :D

I';d love to go to an iceracing event :) Closest we get down here is watching it on TV with a frozen coke :)

The main person they use for traction, is that poor photographer standing on the edge of the track. :D

Great shots, especially with #1 and 4.

Thanks Guys, for all the comments..

Yes Gramps they do use spikes, but they are actually just very aggressive studs. They look like PK screw heads (1/4 socket type head). Believe it or not this iceracing is safer for both rider and Photographer then MotoX is. They actually get much better grip on ice then in the dirt, as well they do have guards on the front tire and kill switches that shut the bike down should the rider fall off.. With that said, in 4 years of photographing these guys, I have only seen one person slightly injured and a few minor spills.. As for MotoX I usually see that much at each race...

Thanks Again
