Hello,

I'm in the process of putting a business plan together for a Real Estate Photography business. I have already done my research on the barriers that are present to entering this particular field.

I'm looking for feedback on the business name from fellow photogs.

The name I'm leaning towards is "Estate Photography". Of all the people that i've spoken to personally only one so far has said that the first thing that pops in their head is not Real Estate Photography when they hear the name.

I have registered the .ca domain name as it was available, but have not locked myself into a hosting plan nor have I registered the business with the city yet until I'm positive that this is what I'm going with.

I'd like to hear your thoughts.

Thanks,
Rich

Real estate is not what came to my mind either. I thought of you taking pictures of the fox hunt!

The name is the hardest part to decide on I think. You want it memorable, and descriptive. While your choice is fairly good. It leaves a lot of room.....

My guess is that the RE agents will be your main clients. Find out if there is a trade term for the photos in the listings. If there is a nickname for them see if that works as a company name.

It took me 3 months to find a name. So take your time and make sure you like what you decide on.

Real Estate work is the only photographic work you will be doing?

MMD - Residential and Commercial Real Estate is what I'm targeting.

Mark - Thank you for the tips and advice.
