Lizard Photo : Ft Worth Zoo

Lisa and I made a trip to the Ft Worth Zoo this past weekend and I must say that zoo was awesome. Supposedly its rated as one of the top ten zoos in the country and now i know why.

anyways, i didnt catch the name of this lizard in the retile section but i did catch its photograph... hehe

i placed the rim of the lens hood on the glass and used that to give me the added stability for the slow shutter speed...

Very good looking lizard. I think his name is Bert by the way. :)

The glass must have been clean - I always end up with smudges when I try shooting through zoo glass.

hehe... maybe i should have said.. the name of this species... hehe.

oh well live and learn. yeah the glass here was very clean and scratch free unlike our houston zoo. i was very impressed.

Very nice! Lizards make such good subjects :) That seems like such a slow shutter speed for such a sharp image. Was he holding perfectly still?

Here's my last attempt at a Zoo Lizard, at 200mm I had to shoot alot faster than 1/45 though.

thnks... yeah he was perched on there the full 10 minutes i was there... he'd move his head here and there but thats about it
