Typically I shoot in raw and do most my work in DPP. Then transfer the raw image to photoshop to crop and convert prior to uploading.
Is there anyway to keep the exif data through all this so it is accessible when viewing flickr?

Don't save for web; do a save as... JPG. Save for web strips it to keep the filesize as small as possible.

okay, so I will have to save my photo as a .tiff file then as .jpeg is not an option when chosing save as.

Nope, check off "save a copy" or "don't save with layers" or whatever else you need to so that JPG becomes an option in the Save As dialog. If you still can't save as JPG you may have to convert your color space or bit-depth, not sure.

I have had this same problem. I do the 'save as' and click save as copy, but my EXIF doesn't stay in tact. I am wondering what I am doing wrong as well.

I had to change from 16bit to 8bit in photoshop to have mine save as jpeg

I just went through the process and I had to reduce the bit-depth to 8 bits/channel before JPG was an option in the dialog. It did preserve my EXIF so you must be losing it at some point before that, aduda.
