I'm going down to the Phoenix area in early March for baseball spring training but am going to spend an entire day in the Tonto National Forest. There are a couple of places in there I've briefly seen like Superstition Mountains and the Apache Trail but want to venture further into that area. What I'm asking is if anyone is familiar with that area and could give a bit of guidance as to some interesting places for photography. It is a pretty big forest and I obviously can't cover it all in one day but am looking for some feedback/opinions if anyone has been there.

Thanks in advance.

Ro1,

I'm basically taking everything I have: 20D, 17-40mm, 24-70mm, 50mm f1.8, 70-200mm f4, 1.4 TC, and all of the gadgets that I can carry.

.........I would probably substitute the 24-70 for a tripod..........

Good luck on your trip anyways.........and don't forget to share your pics when you get back.
