New name for 5D replacement?

5D MK II would not reflect the DIGIC III processor. The 1D MK II had II DIGIC and the original was original chip set (canon anyways).

So if it was going to be the 5D would it not make sense to make it the 5D MK III even though its the 2nd version?


I voted for 3D because I think it sounds cool and I hope it is better than the Nikon D3.

I honestly think it is possible that canon will put out two versions like the 7D/6D/3D/2D or something different than 5D.

In film you have a Canon EOS 1v and an EOS 3 which are the two top end cameras. I'd like to see Canon keep the trend going and have a 3D... besides, as mentioned before, the name sounds rather cool. :D

Oh yeah, i forgot about that. Wikipedia says that's why they jumped from G3 to G5 and the EOS 3 to the EOS 5. Too bad, the time joke would have been great though.
