It's a good start - perhaps more of a facial view, her expression, would make it a more powerful image.

Too much space above her in the frame, i would of tried taken one from a lower angle looking up at her... Obviously you wouldnt want her shoe to be cut out like that...

The font looks to comical.

Thanks for the critique. Other's opinions are very helpful.
I'm not sure what is meant by 'look at the date--it's not a redo'?
I'm pretty sure I did take it in 2005.
I kept her clear and purposely blurred the background in my pc.

Thanks for the thoughts

The background blur is a good idea although doing it in PS is less effective than had you used a larger aperture. It doesn't look bad, but you can tell it's a PS manipulation as opposed to aperture control. You didn't use Gaussian blur, did you, or if you did you cranked it up pretty high?

Actually, the way you blurred the background almost gives it a "painterly" watercolor effect, which is in stark contrast to the sharp foreground "winner."

Thats what I meant, its not like you can go back and retake the photo;)
I agree about the watercolor effect of the runners in the background.maybe less blur and a little more features wouldn't feel so painting like?

The background looks "posterized" to me.

It all feels a little "pasted" together?

Know exactly what you mean Matt - reminds me of color tone separations I did back in school. They can be quite effective and very attractive, but unfortunatley appears out of place here. Most people probably would not notice it, but we photogs tend to jump on things like that :lol:.
