I noticed that B & H , and Fry's ( a local electronics store) lowered the price on the 20d about $100. Is something new coming or should i just jump on this?

I serouosly doubt that Canon is cooking something new to replace the 20D, since it was introduced not so long ago. Just jump on this.

Sounds like the standard price drop when supply starts to meet demand. There will be a Drebel Mk2 well before a 20D replacement

Ah now there is a thought (a bit early though ;) ), will it be a 30D given we have already had a D30?
And what will the 300D successors name be? I am picking something like 300Dv or 300Dx in line with the film 300's. Then again I could be completely wrong. I doubt it will be 200D or 400D.

what about 200D, 20D, 2D, 1D
canon had already the 500 line (5000, 500, 50, 5, 1), actual is the 300 line (3000, 300, 30, 3, 1)
the last cam that came out was 20D, so a guess would be that the next 300D will be 200D
I read somewhere also that the 1D and 1Ds will be melted in one, soI guess the name 1D will be kept, and a 2D perhaps be added, which will fill the gap between 1D and 20D
These thoughts are mine, unfounded... no proof at hand...

My guess is that Canon will replace the 1D Mk II before they touch the 20D. The 1D Mk II needs to be updated to justify the $3000.00 price difference between it and the 20D. Maybe a 12 Mega Pixel CMOS with 1.3 crop factor or something. There are just not enough reasons to spend the extra money on a 1D Mk II. I mean you can buy 3 20D's for the price of a single 1D Mk II. I am getting ready to buy a new body to go with my 10D, and as much as I want a 1D Mk II, I just can't justify it. I know the 1D Mk II is a solid body (I have a EOS 1 film body) but is it worth $3000.00 more?
