Here comes the rant......
It may be my imagination, but it seems that every day there are more and more of these threads......
"Hi. I am thinking of getting a new lens. I enjoy photographing dumpsters and documenting the evolution of sugar packets. What would you recommend for under $75? I would prefer an L lens if at all possible."
Does anyone appreciate the shear joy of research anymore? Or, does anyone even bother to look for their own answers?
More to the point, to the POTN faithful actually encourage this behavior by ANSWERING the same question OVER AND OVER again?
Or am I being a "bloody bore?"
You tell me..........

He thought the price was right, but said it was a little slow. He likes to catch the twilight dumpster divers, and hes a natural light only kinda guy.
Go figure.

yea I have used the search and at times I find it easy to find nothing. The search function isn't perfect and unless you know what you looking for it can easily seem that the results have nothing to do with the search.
You know, you don't have to read the thread, reply to the thread if you have already seen the question a million times.
it's a fact of life and it's a fact of live in a forum.
In fact I was surprised this topic isn't locked yet.

Just playing around......
For the record, I always replay when I can be helpful, and if I ever recommend another topic, I explain why, with the links.......

Thanks for clarifying, Matt. I have to say that I didn't read it as playing either on the first pass through.

I have many times asked the same question elsewhere, I'm glad this time it is you bringing this up and not me. I don't feel alone anymore! People are lazy and won't do the work for themselves I think, they just want information broken down and spoon fed to them in easy to digest bites.

Everybody is a "newb" at some point in the game.
Repeat questions do get answered, and therefore it's not your concern , when you see them ignore them and maybe you won't get so angry about it.
And to answer the specific questions, no no one does use the sear4ch tool. It can be the first thread stickied in a FAQ and no one sees it.
And yes, .. you are.
Likewise, this thread has been posted dozens of times a year and I notice we chose to create a new one.
This is the nature of internet forums, it's not about the repeat customer, it's about the ones just getting here for the first time.
The rest of us should know better, but usually we don't seem to catch on any way.
