First Macro shot

I dont have a Macro lens, but I saw this dragonfly and just had to take a picture. I will buy a macro lens and flash soon!!

This was handheld with my 40D and 35mm 1.4 L.

Thanks! I will buy one soon. I think I will hold off on the 85L and get the Macro next. It is just so cool to look at the pictures y'all take that I want to be able to do it.

My soon to be wife said I wanted to get into photography because I just wanted to take pictures of girls, I told her that I just wanted to shoot cars and bugs lol.

Thanks MJ. There was one with much more color to it, but this one wanted to pose for me :) . I am new to all of this, so it takes a bug with 'nothing better to do', for me to capture it. I was doing the belly crawl through the rocks for about 10 minutes lol. I am glad nobody could see me!!

I wonder how it would have turned out if I had used my 580 EX II? I was scarred it would ruin the picture because I dont really know how to use the flash yet.

Ya, I just put a few of the things I really love on there. The rate I am buying stuff, I would be changing it every week lol. I really go full steam ahead when I start a new hobby.
