Anyone else get the 99 error with the 85/1.8? I had it happen once and can't figure out why.

Error 99 could be just about anything, but it is commonly something to do with the communications between the lens and the body. In other cases, it can be a non-Canon lens issue. For your case, I would start by very carefully wiping off the gold contacts where the lens and body meet. Was that lens new or used?

Sorry for being so slow to reply, it was new. I haven't had it happen again though.
