Sigma 50mm Macro

Hi Does anyone out there know if the sigma 50mm Macro lens will work on a 300D? It is a very early one but cheap enough to get me started shooting close ups.

50mm Macro Depends on how old, I tried one that I bought say back in september (of '04), it worked perfectly fine, I returned it to upgrade to the 105mm Macro ( wanted some more working distance, didnt wana have to be so close to the subject for life-size magnification ).
