G'Day All.
Thought the other thread may have been getting a little on the long side, so I've added a few more here.

The first is 3830 coming into Maitland Railway Station.
The second is of 3830 shining in the late afternoon sun. Not sure why but I like this photo :-)

And a couple more.

The first one here shows both 3801 (closest) and 3830 arriving at Maitland from Broadmeadow. Every year a race is staged between a tiger moth and the 3801. The other train usually follows on the parallel track. Sure does bring a lot of spectators though (which can be seen on the railway bridge).

The second is a closeup of the working parts of the 3830.:)

All cool shots. I like the closeup best in this series. :)

Thanks Jim. just wish I hadn't cut the bottom off that front wheel, might have been even better :-)

Wow you guys have a lot more steam than we do around here. Nice shots.

Really have enjoyed your pictures. I like the ones trailing all of the smoke here the best.

Great shots there. Used to take a lot of train shots myself once. Must get into it again.

That second shot. How about playing with the histogram/levels control and/or curves. Try to darken it all without loosing too much shadow detail. Might not work but worth a try. Haven't got time to try it myself.

Thanks for the comment Jerry. Theres a few steamers running around in NSW. These two are probably the largest and most well-known. I only see them about once a year or so. There are a lot of diesels though.

Thanks Mills - I like the smoke and steam shots too. I'd love to get a picture like some of those ones that I've seen from the states taken in the winter when there is a huge steam plume. Unfortunately (or fortunately..http://www.photography-on-the.net/forum/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif ) it doesn't really get cold enough here to form those big steam plumes http://www.photography-on-the.net/forum/images/smilies/icon_sad.gif.

Thanks Sandy. Might get a few more this year I hope, so I'll share a few of those too.

Thanks Graham. Tried your suggestion and darkened it up a little. I then had to crop out the guys in safety jackets as they we're too distracting. I then thought that it might look good in B&W to give a 1940's era atmosphere. I've attached the pics. below
