I like the shots the B&W one in paticular. I've only had limited sucess shooting people under stage lights.

Nice, but for shots like this you should have the fighter's name, rather than just saying "Fighter".

i didn't have their names, i even checked the website and it only listed one name for the whole night.

Try talking to the coordinator of the event, if you go there again. They almost always have a list of competitors somewhere.

I think you really captured the strain, emotion and brutality of this event well, though 2 is kinda meh. Looks very contrasty. Any special noise reduction done?

i was kidding when said sandbagger, you did a damn good job on your first fight. I dug up some of my first mma pics everything was off i think if i remember right i shot the first half of round one with my lens cap still on

it was a little harder than i thought it'd be, i kept the lens against the fence but i still got some fence in the pics. I wish i could have stood up over then fence like the video guys. I did boost the contrast on some and the lowest setting on NN was used on those.

Shots aren't bad considering the lighting. I shot a "mayhem cage fights" event recently and the light was garbage. I think i shot at ISO 6400 2.8 1/400 the whole time. The only lights were some utility work lights from home depot on top of the cage.

It was a great time though, I'm sure you had a blast.
