Hi!

I'm a new user and was wondering if someone can help with a question / problem!?

Recently purchased a USB CF card read/writer......

Have successfully "moved" files from my PC to the card and I am able to open the files on my PC....however, when I reinsert the CF card into my Canon IXUS V2 I get a file format error.......!?

Have tried formatting card in the camera and then moving files onto the card but same error message occurs......

Any help / suggestions in this area.?

I'm a G2 user, so I can only assume (hope) your Canon formats the same as mine.

The trick is, you must get your uploaded photos into the Canon file structure. When you open your CF you will see a DCIM file. When you open that, you see 110Canon, 111Canon, whatever. Opening that file, you finally see your IMG photo files.

For your camera to recognize them, your photos must be loaded into any Canon file (110Canon, whatever) with the DCIM file also present. Then they will show up on your lcd.

If I'm starting with a clean CF, I put it into the G2, take one random shot to establish a DCIM and Canon file, put the CF in the card reader, and upload the photos I want into the Canon file. Great for building portable slide shows!!

Good luck.......Don
