...just wondering if anyone is using or has used Master Album Maker Software from intrepidmouse.com as a digital album for clients?

I typically provide online proofs (4X6 proofs at extra cost) and then the ordered prints. But I've now given a digital album to 2 clients made with this software and they LOVE IT. Its a very simple program and there really are no "photographer" skills needed to use it, but if the clients like it...why not offer it for a couple bucks or even for free as a PR thing. It runs super fast, creates an album that requires very little space and takes maybe an additional 10 minutes to do, total.

So, my question is what have others thought of this software AND what is the difference between the evaluation version and the version that costs $40?

thanks,
daniel

have you tried using the latest version of Picasa (http://www.picasa.com/)?

No, I've never used Picasa, but from what I can tell, it is not the same thing as what I'm talking about. I can see something like Picasa ruining my current workflow and organization of photos. Maybe I'm wrong. What do you, personally, use Picasa for?

I use Picasa to organize pics, sharing pics thru mail, making digital albums and taking backups...I'm not a pro so all this solves my purpose

I use Master Album Maker and I think very highly of it. I've also used Picasa a bit and it's very good at cataloging images (as you'd expect from Google!) but for me, when it comes to creating albums it's not a patch on Master Album Maker.

For a nominal charge I offer my customers a digital album on cd along with their prints - and it's proving very popular. Putting together an album takes no time at all, so I find it well worth it.

As far as I can remember, albums created by the evaluation version time out after a couple of days. With the full version the albums don't time out at all.

Hope this helps,

Wedding couples mainly. Judging from the feedback I've received, the albums mean that more people get to see my work. And they speed up my reprint orders too!
