Interesting composition, and the exposure looks good. You may want to try to clone out the reflection of the car in the window as it detracts from the feel of the image. Also curious, what is the "story" behind this photo? Is the flagged room a symbol of hope beyond the dark and drab world outside, a sort of allusion to the words inscribed on the statue of liberty's tablet? (Give me your tired, your poor, etc.)

I think this is very clever and good.

The way the flag stands proud but needs to be "protected" behind the not so clear glass, also how its split down the middle by the window pane. The way the house is Number 1, but looks beaten up and worse for wear. The paint is falling off the walls so we can all see underneath that this house is no different to any other house anywhere else on the planet. Just once upon a time it liked to dress up as better than the rest.

If its meant as a clever contrast of how the USA presents itself and the reality on the ground and how the USA is seen, I think it works fantastically well.

I like this picture because it reminds me of some values I learned as a youngster during WWII. The proud poor of my community were the ones having the most stars hung in the window, and they were also the ones that gave their paper boy (me) the best tips:lol:

In addition, I like the composition. It shows just enough to get the point across, and no more.

To me this crop did not work at all.I have the whole door BUT it does not have feeling that I wanted to project.

the original had a flag in the window and the address has #1 on the door. i thought it was a nice touch. the title which is extremely important in judging is about the door not the window. therefore "impact" is lost on the presentation.

Thanks to everyone for taking time to Critique my Photograph.
I have an emotional connection to the photograph and I am glad to see other have as well. When someone is caused to feel something because of my photography; my mission is complete:)

I like the composition as cropped. Very nicely done. As far as HDR goes, I especially like what happens to the paint on the wall. I'm comfortable with the door and leaves, but I don't like what happened in the flag. I would like to see the flag in the original image with slightly higher contrast cut into the HDR. Just my opinion.
