The owl got the chicken in the wrong way so it had a little trouble swallowing it.

I love the owl shot. That is my kind of bird photo. Despite the grim nature of it, natural bird behavior like that is fascinating. What kind of owl is it? Or, what kind of prey was it?

I have a shot of a green heron where the frog lunch is going down the wrong way, and the bird has a very strange look in its eyes, and the frog's eyes were bulging out.

If I recall correctly it is a horned owl. The lunch was a 1 day-old chicken.

Incredible shots!
That Harris hawk is really photogenic too ;)

The Owl looks to have the coloring (both feathers and eyes) of the Eagle Owl.. often a favorite in zoos.. a EurAsian close relative of our U.S. Great Horned Owl,. of about equal size.. (though the Eagle Owl is the top dog)

Great photo!
