Vancouver Canadians (Oakland A's single-A affiliate) vs. the Boise Hawks (Chicago Cubs affiliate), August 17, 2008.
What do you think? Safe, right? Well, the call was Out and I really didn't mind since the call went in my team's favour. :D This would have been the go-ahead run in the top of the 9th inning, however it ended up just keeping the game a tie. Canadians got a run in the bottom of the 9th to pick up the win.

Hi Big K, no I was shooting from the roof of the stadium. It's got a big overhang, so I was able to shoot almost directly above the play.
Thanks for all your comments. Yes, he was safe by a mile! But the Canadians had a bunch of bad calls throughout the series, so I feel this was just an even-up call! Unfortunately for Boise, this call might have cost them the game.

Great shot, perfect timing! The colors against the brown dirt really make it pop.
What speed were you shooting at? The runner has great action blur showing the speed of the play.
Great work.

EXIF shows 1/1000...motion "blur" is actually the dust his hands and feet are kicking up...agree that this is a unique angle and nice shot.
Living across the water, I've been wanting to get to a Canadians game one of these days. What's their policy on cameras and how did you manage to get on the roof!?
Cheers!

Yes, I used shutter priority at 1/1000. Chris, I've always enjoyed your baseball shots. If you come across the water, let me know and I'll get you a ticket. Only 6 more home games though.
There is no camera policy at Nat Bailey Stadium. You can bring in any kind of gear, in any-sized backpack, and you're good to go. I've got an all-access pass to the Stadium, which allows me to get up on the roof. It offers a unique perspective, and lots of free foul balls!

Thanks for the compliment! I'll likely have to wait for next year to take you up on your offer of tickets though!
Cheers!
