Unfortunately cloudy day train shots or backlit shots make the train look flat and boring. The first shot I would rotate to the left and crop off 1-1/2"s off the elft side the chop the top down. Try using the shadow highlight tool a bit. The second shot, to me, would have been much better having the crossing signal in focus and the train blurred. Just my opinions. Trains aren't as easy to shoot a good shot of as people think.

I'm from Erie PA where they make those trains :) I get excited when I see someone post one of those because it makes me think..... Hmmmm I wonder if thats one of the ones I have seen on the GE test track that I pass every day to work and on my way back home. There is a little picnic area on 1 side of the test track and I've gone a small handful of times to wait for a train.... of course I usually run out of patience though before a train goes through...
