Nice! I did that once by accident, but liked the results so much I posted the photo in an earlier thread, http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=53351
I'm also going to do it more often just for the effect.

They both look nice. You should frame them and hang 'em up in the bakery with a $950 price tag. ;)

Sure does! sometimes accidents work out great. I wonder if it'll work that good when you try to do it intentionally.

It looks like there is alot of noise, especially in that second one. That color noise in the 2nd one doesn't do anything for me. Where did that noise come from? I like the idea though and the first one is nice.

the noise comes from the digital zoom... that is 3x optical to 11x digital, with powershot A85...

...ahhh, that would make sense.. I should have read your sig. Have you tried putting an edge mask on it and running some NR software on it?

Hmmm, Hypocrisy, that Tungsten white balance setting might be useful to create the illusion of moonlit scenes; take a few sunlit photos, darken and tweak the hue and saturation a bit and see what you get.

Stoneylonesome, that bluish cast REALLY WORKS! I'll have to remember that idea. :)
