OMG! i WANT TO TAKE PHOTOS LIKE THIS!
I got this from someone's facebook group page, but i knew they wouldn't respond fast enough so I posted it here.
How can I shoot like this? what' thats recommended lens, settings, etc... I have a Rebel Xti, and am seriously looking to get a new lens ASAP: 17-55MM f/2.8 or 24-70mm f/2.8? Which ones would get me shots like this?
Sorry if i sound a bit weird:o lol.

I think you might want to double check the rules on posting material to which you do not own the copyright ... and perhaps before a mod sees this post.

I try with a cross processing for tone and burn with Photoshop.

Settings are not the issue, its the processing. Research Lomo/Lomo actions/Lomo action tools for Photoshop or mainly, Lomography. Its a style been adopted by many people.
One of my friends has a great collection taken all with a 400D - http://michyy.deviantart.com/
Maybe gain some more ideas.

Change the image to a link, best way to stay out of trouble with the mods. :)
The image is very nice, and so is the person. Something on her left knee (right on the photo) just doesn't look natural... lol.
By the sharpness of her legs and the jagged edges, I would say that this person was placed into a photo with photoshop or something similar. Colour tones, brightness and contrast are different than on the person (coulda been PS). I'm convinced that the person was placed on a background. You won't be able to take a photo like that without PP, ever! With a bit of PS you should easily be able to do that, with some creativity!

I've removed your attachment. If you want to show something that you haven't personally shot, just post a link to it as there are © issues?
