This shot was taken in Bogota downtown last December. If you walk around that area you don't need to be lucky in order to find some young men wearing picturesque clothings and totally immobile. When a kid places a coin in a box they have at their feet they perform slowly movements for a while before they stop again waiting for the next coin to come.

There are a few of them in Tokyo also (although none of them is Japanese, all foriegners).
I just dont understand how someone can be dead still till they get some monitory inspiration to move a little :-) Dont get me wrong, just want to say, its impossible for me to do something like that. These guys must have a huge patience...

Hey.. Nice shot.. The ones here in SF actually have a futuristic space suit on. Like I,Robot! Haahaa.

Funny you posted this up.. My brother was just talking about how he seen these guys standing perfectly still at a place called Union Square. He was eating a sandwich there one time and some kids were giving a silver one trouble. The robot scared the living crap out of them!!! They thought he was just some statue until he moved and one of the kid dropped his hot dog from being startled!! Man if only I had that on photos!!!

Once CandidBandit mentioned San Francisco, I had to dig up an old shot taken at Fishermen's Wharf a couple years ago. Funny thing, we later saw this guy being relieved of his duty by a 9 year-old kid dressed just like him. Didn't take his picture.

Mmmm. It seems I started a very interesting discussion here. Does anyone else have a shot of a live statue to share?

Marie, I can't stop laughing! You're so funny. :) :) :)
