I'm trying to get some information on how much to charge for RealEstate photography. I would only be taking a few shots of each house and not a great big audiance. The pictures are only up for a few weeks.

Thanks....Dave

First I would come up with an hourly rate plus milage amount. Around $50 an hr and I beleave 38-40 cents a mile. For photos used on a website you need to come up with pricing for front and secondary pages and the relitive size of the photo on the page, full, half, quarter page etc. do some research and you will find its actually quite pricey, most realitors do there owne photos untill you get into high end houses where there are 10's of thousands of dollars on the line for the realitor and they dont mind spending money on a pro photographer because it would draw in the high end buyers.

I'm afraid that you will find that real estate is a very low-paying field of photography. I know some realty firms that pay about $10 per house. I once shot an estate for an upscale realty firm spending about 5 hours and several rolls of film for photographs which were going into Sotheby's real estate catalog. They grumbled and complained because I charged $300 for the shoot, but their own photographer couldn't make their deadline. When Igot my copy of the catalog found out the the house was priced at $2.89 MILLION dollars. Which is why I have decided not to pursue this aspect of photography anymore.
