i was wondering..if theres any type of application or something that i can use so that i can take pictures and have it automatically show up to a laptop hooked up to the camera or something. i dont like using the little preview screen on my eos 10d because it seems to always show the pictures overexposed. also i'd jus like to have a larger display of it on a high quality screen, not on a tv. does anyone know a solution to this?

I know on the rebel you can do that. I can't see why on the 10D you couldn't

Yes, I believe you can just connect the 10D to the computer via USB. You could also use the histogram on the camera LCD instead of relying on the image.

Hook up your 10D to the USB cable and attach it to the laptop. Then start up EVU or DPP and start the "EOS Capture" session (for EVU, click Option > EOS Capture; for DPP, click Tools > Start EOS Capture.

pcasciola - Correct me if I'm wrong - There is certain funtionality that is lost using the computer to trigger the shutter - Can't do bulb exposures, shutter lock up and maybe timer....

That's right. With EOS capture, you can't do bulb, images are not saved to the CF card (not sure if there is a setting for this so it saves to both), and battery life is much less than normal.
