The colors are really good. It's hard to get really red sunsets unedited - when you do get them, it's especially rewarding.

thanks for the comments guys! this is one of the first forums i've been in that doesn't seem to $hit all over newbies :)

I think the colors are pretty good but I've always noticed that my nikon was always more cartoony looking than my wifes canon.... we've long since gotten rid of both of those cameras and I'm waiting for my 20D to come in the mail, it was shipped on tuesday :)

here's the color difference i'm talking about:
both shots were within the same minute or so.

What camera did your wife shoot with? I sure like the way yours turned out! I bet it still must have changed fast within a minute...because the cloud formation is different.

Love the aquarium shot, as well as the first sunset. I think the difference is all in the metering, which can vary a lot between brands/models. Exposure for the second sunset was too much an average of the scene.

thanks guys. the diver goes in the tank twice a day and that's a video camera. there's a live feed onto a large projector on the opposite wall. it's so you can get a close up of the fish. i think it's kind of stupid though. who the hell want's to watch a video of that when you can look thru the glass and see it for real?
that's ocean expo park in Okinawa Japan (where I live)

That is exactly what makes this forum the best on the net.

NIce photos, beautiful colors in the first one.

One advice, try to keep the resolution to max 800 on the longest side. This will in most cases result in the best viewing experience.

That's a jpg right off the camera. no processing or color effects or anything. i didn't even use a special shooting mode when i took it. that was full auto (not that I'm proud) and i had the flash turned off.

Beautiful sunsets, and the aquarium is stunning. Such as large place. Would love to go there myself. Our Kelly Tarlton's in Auckland NZ, simply lacks the "WOW"
