what a beautiful horse.
Maybe get a little closer next time or crop tighter... And use a larger aperture to isolate the subject a little more.

A little less snap-shotish would be nice.

Thank you for the critique. I am not familiar with that term though.

Rad thanks for posting the link! I'd read that article and wanted to remember it, but of course, forgot. Lately have been trying to explain to friends what my work is and that article makes it easy to explain.

The G1 is still a great camera. Thanks for sharing!

Wow! You really dug this one up.:) It has been awhile since then and thanks to the generous teachers here, I have learned so much since that effort. I still love to photograph horses, but in recent years I have concentrated my efforts on bird images.
Since buying the G1, I went on to a Canon Pro1, then a 20D, then a 40D which I still use and now a 7D which is my main body.
Below are images taken over the years with some of those other cameras since the G1.

I have been on this forum for over 7 years now and in that time I have learned so much here and spent a few bucks:rolleyes: on equipment as well. One of the things I have learned is that while your level of equipment is a factor in the IQ of your images, it pales in comparison to the skill level of the person using the equipment. I still see images made with G1 cameras that make me jealous. The learning continues....

You have come a long way since the original post! At first I thought the horse looking over the fence was an "out of bounds" image. Beautiful shots.
