Does this work? I used a bright LED light from the side while in total darkness, and exposed for 15 sec. I then did some minor adjustments, totally finished blacking out the background, and cloned out some dirt spots. I was more just having fun, and even though I like it, it sure doesn't mean others will!!! :D

To tell you the truth, I don't quite get it. I don't understand why this needed to be exposed for 15 seconds, either.

I don't mind the centralized subject-that doesn't bother me in this shot. As much as I like your shot, I think cloning out shadow (probably from the stem) on the right side would be an improvement.

I think the lighting is very interesting and effective. The exposure is right on, and the black background is very effective. I think the composition is too static, and the glass should stand more to the left.
Very nice!
