A quick set from a War Birds fun fly I attended today. I took a lot of photos so it will be a while before I get albums uploaded but these seem worthy of sharing.http://lh6.ggpht.com/cicopo/SLCCcjZTLqI/AAAAAAAAO5Y/koexOkmsSFI/INGR7342%20copy.jpg?imgmax=800

It's powered by 4 OS Max 25's and they all start (by hand) right away. I grew up on a base with a squadron of Lancasters so this brings back a part of my childhood.

That's a great idea. I could have got into a lot of trouble with that! ;)

The bombs are filled with flour and when things go right they open up on impact & the flour sprays out to look like smoke. It worked on that pass, but the grass cushoned the impact enough that it just barely worked.

The owner of the Lanc also flew this beautiful C 160 Transall. (these are as shot, I'll wait until I pick all of the shots for the album before get into post processing for saturation etc.) I was surprised at how easily he could do touch & go's while others with nice wide tricycle gear had a hard time taking off or landing.
