Still sorting through many images, but this was one of the best I have come across. Only cloned out the spots, and did a save.
Input/ C&C Welcome.

Yes, Ty, I did use my "new" 2N ;). It doesn't have as many spots as my older but still "new" 2N. They are both going to CPS, once this weekend is over, to get a clean bill of health. I have a loaner N, but it has some issues, so I have not been using it yet.
That is a better Heritage Flight, than what we had back at Thunder. Skies are much better, than the gray overcast stuff we had.

Nice shot, but it seems 1 to 1.5 stops underexposed. Could be my monitor though.

Not bad, the F-22 is one big bird.

nice shot. jeeze, i love the sound of those old propeller planes. i would definitely be a pilot of one of those if they were still in the air force, but now they have those super fast high tech jets....

Thank you. Me thinks it is your monitor. I EC + 1/3 since everything was heavily backlit, as per the recommendations of the shooters around me. And the image looks pretty balanced on my screen. Your welcome to save it, and edit, & repost, if you think doing some exposure adjustments, may help.

Since you said you love the sound of props. How about this one. It was one of the best.

Nice capture and prop blur, but it could use some contrast adjustments (the first shot).

Thanks for the input. So far, I have just been sorting the best, better, good, & ugly, and just resizing a couple to post to the boards. I don't have LR or Aperture, so I'm using Photomechanic to sort through 1500+ images. I shot 300+ of the F-22 , between its' two passes today. I haven't even sorted those yet. Will do some re-post with corrections in the next few days.

I know how that goes. I took almost 2,000 shots last weekend at the Chicago Air & Water Show. It was pretty tedious trying to pare them down. I'd also suggest using NeatImage for noise reduction. Very gentle.

Here is the same image, with a +1 Exposure Adjustment. Let me know your thoughts.

And here is a +.25 exposure adjustment to the B-17

Thats a perfectly exposed sky.
Try shooting outside of Av next time. Im not even entirely sure why you would want Av for this anyways. Tv would give you the certainty for prop blur and the camera changing the f-number really isnt going to put your background any more or less into focus.
Ideally, just get the settings and shoot in M. Nothing is really changing.

James, i think they look better. Since they are basically against a seamless background, it wouldn't take but a second to select them and do some level adjustments independent of the background. It might add a little more pop to each of the planes....

Thank you everyone for the input. I just woke up ;)... Regarding Adam's comment. I shot Manual for 95% of the show. The remaining 5% I experimented with TV, when the Big Props came around. I was shooting static displays, when the Heritage Flight came around, and was using Aperture Priority, so I shot, with what I was set to.
As I said, I have not even started processing the images. I ran a couple through PS, to clean em up, so I could post em, and then as the suggestions came in, that they were a bit dark, I just lightened up a bit. I will do more post work this evening. I am headed back for Day 2 for part of the day at least. :)

I shot for only half the time, and shot almost as many shots, as I shot the entire day yesterday. :) I worked harder at getting a higher keeper rate of the prop blur effect. I am now sorting those images, and if I have a couple of good ones', I will post them too.
Thank you for the compliments.
