fine detail, they do seem to be the tamest species - I haven't managed to get that close to Migrant Hawkers.

Awesome long DOF on these, how do you get it so long?
Aren't DSLR's supposed to suffer from short DOF for macros?

Thanks for the comments all :)

Toby- think you are right although the Hawkers I get in my garden aren't too bad but they do tend to hang up in awkard places.

Sebastien- all these shots are focus stacked using around 3 pics to get greater DOF.

Fantastic series, really fun to be able to see all the small dust on the flys eyes.

Fantastic clarity as always. I am guessing from the DOF there is some stacking there?

Great shots as always Brian. Can never 'see' the stereograms tho - LOL. Dont know where you get the time and patience to do all your focus stacking - until it all gets automated think I will hold off buying the MPE-65 (as I think I would be disappointed with my results compared to yours)

Thanks :) .
pity about the 3-D shots bvut guess only about 50% of the population can freeview these.

Stephen - lots of photogs here use an MPE-65 and do not focus stack. If you are used to using a 1:1 macro lens but feel limited by the magnification then it's worth thinking about the MPE-65.
