Hello everyone this is my first visit to the forum and let me tell you how excited I was when I discovered this place because I am clueless as to how to operate my camera. 2 questions: I have a 10D and was wondering how can I transfer my pics to a disc so I can have a backup in case my computer crashes and (2)am I able to print on a HP deskjet 970Cxi? I was under the impression I could but that doesn't seem to be the case. Please help
Thanks~Norann:confused:

I don't see why you wouldn't be able to print on virtually any printer. Just get some decent software from Adobe and everything else will fall into place. Transferring images onto disc are fairly easy. Open up your CD Burning software, take all the pics you want to save and drop them into a Data CD, then burn.

Neither question appears to be related to Canon EOS or any photography. They are digital photography "workflow" computer questions. Many books and web sites on this subjects.
1. Just download 10D images from camera to a folder, perferably using a USB 2 Flash Card Reader. Then burn the folder onto a CD using built in software or Roxio. Name the disk anything you want, date, location, etc.
2. Do you have the appropriate updated driver for that computer to be used with your image editing software? Sounds like a really old printer.

Does your printer work for printing text? If so you should be able to print pictures. If your using Windows XP one of the easiest programs to use is the photo printing wizard that is built in to XP. A little more info on your printing problems would be helpful.

I have the HP 970CXI and it prints pictures fine. On good paper it is as good or better than most other printers. There are better photoprinters, but it is an OK printer. Get the latest driver for it and most photo printing software will work fine.
