Well I normally paint backdrops with lights. Sometimes a Dedicated strobe/flash on a reflective blue or another color satin sheet. Sometimed colored gel over light on various types of backdrops.

I have a cream muslim backdrop. I was hoping I would be able to faux paint on it so it would look like canvas?

has anyone tried it? if so what kind of paint would I use?

thank you Bloo dog very much ... I think I'll go with the dye method it sounds much easier. What do you mean by splashing? the darker color and the diluted bleach water? how do i add it after I wet it?

Thanks :)

I did some using the RIT dye method. I placed the dye in hot water in a bucket. I placed the prewashed, still wet musslin in a clump on the floor and then gently placed this into the dye. AFter sitting for about 30 min. I took it out and rinsed in cold water. I leaves you with a mottled aftect that so far has been a hit with my clients.
