I'm still a stumbling bafoon in PS3, so could someone please tell me what I can do to make someone look thinner, short of suggesting the Atkins diet. Thanks Clay

Acually that might look confusing. What I meant was PS elements 3.

Never mind, I found it in the book under thighs. Thanks anyway

One simple way might be to "squish" the image. If the picture is 1000x1000 then resize it to 1000x800. It depends on the image though.

Well this is how you'd do it in photoshop
however the book refers to a 'liquify' function which I dont find under Photoshop CS. According to the book it was first introduced in Photoshop 6.0, but as it turnes out its under the filter section now instead of image.

Digital Tummy Tuck
....
1. To zoom in to the area that needs manipulating and to speed up the application of the Liquify distortions, use the Marquee tool to roughly select the area to be worked on and then select Image > Liquify Though I found this to be under Filters now.

2. Use the warp tool to gently push her waist-line in from both sides. A little bit of Liquify shaves pounds off her, scultping her waistline beautifully.

For those interested the book that came out of has the ISBN # of 0-7897-2318-2 , its more of a book for restoring old photos and fixing them, it has very little about digital plastic surgery.
