View Full Version : Silohuette: Good or Bad?

Just curious if this is even close to good and if it is or isn't what should/could I do to make it better next time?

I really liked the look of the sky but didn't like the look of the picture shot normally.

also, looking at it now I can see I should have straightened it out a bit

As you say, it could with straigtening. If I was nitpicking I would also point out that it's not a true silhouette, as detail can still be made out in the windowed part of the roof.

straightened it up and did some additional PP...better or worse?

silohuettes usually look best when the background is bright. the top part of the sky is nice but as you go down it gets too dark and lacks detail. dark in front of dark usually doesn't make a very interesting picture.

I agree, the silhouette isn't really a silhouette unless you can see the full outline of it. You can see it but barely so your eye isn't drawn to its shape.
