Now that all the features have been released for the 50D, what else does Canon have up their sleeve for a 5D successor? I can only think of slapping another processor in there, and 50ISO again. Other than that, and the obvious FF sensor and MP bump, what else can we expect?

100% viewfinder coverage would be pretty sweet.

Proper weather sealing would be a nice addition

a bit more dynamic range

Yeah, increased dynamic range is a big one
weather sealing
wireless flash
GPS capabilities
Programmable shutter timer
in camera double exposure
Lens adjustment
Wireless Nikon flash scrambler/blocker
...

That being said, most of what went in the 50D was the important stuff, if it is simply a fullframe higher MP version, they have my $$. I am optomistic after seeing the 50D.

pro AF
weather sealing
silent drive
FF (of course)

There's plenty they could pack into a 5DII, but why do I feel like they won't? I have the sinking feeling that the 5DII will be a 50D with FF sensor.

Question is... is it worth waiting or just get the 50d?

Well, my wishlist for the new 5D would add:

More weather sealing than 50D
Dual CF slots
18-21MP
Better AF than 50D
5 fps
1/250 flash sync
Larger RAW buffer (at least 20 RAW)
Larger and brighter VF than current 5D
Wireless flash control
Sensor IS (I know, this is almost sure not to be on it)

All of this in addition to the new things on the 50D. I have high expectations from the new camera, I just hope Canon can deliver.

Full frame in-body IS would be impossible without vignetting, wouldn't it? The sensor would necessarily move outside the image circle while trying to compensate for movement.

Well not for TS-E lenses. :)

But yes, probably would be the case. It is probably this very fact that the only cameras with IBIS are crop cameras. However, depending on the focal length of the lens, the sensor may not have to move to an extreme point where it would drastically affect the image.

Quick question - with the 50D now at 15 megapixels, and the 5D at say 21 Megapixels, are we now getting to the stage the the camera will be 'out-resolving' all but L lenses?

If so to what extent does this actually impact on quality of the photos? Am assuming that for most prospective 5D owners L lenses will be the lenses of choice, but for the 50D owners (most of whom will probably only ever use the kit lens) will this be more of an issue?

Guess so, if you check the sample images from the 50D, the 50 1.2L at F8 was unable to resolve type of sharpness that I get from plastic fantastic 50 1.8 and 30D/40D

The 5D will always sit between the xx series and the 1D pro series.

Your not going to get all the 1Ds features, why should you?

Question is... is it worth waiting or just get the 50d?
I've been holding out for a 5D update so I can once and for all upgrade from my 20D, and I have to say the 50D is looking like a mighty fine choice instead- especially considering it costs less than my 20D did when it was brand new
However, the "5D pop" or whatever you want to call it is still a big factor for moving up to the full frame body, plus I can only imagine it will be even greater than the 50D (or at least I really hope). I'm assuming it no doubt now has to get some form of weather sealing, faster AF, higher ISO, Live View and more MP since the 50D has been blessed with all of that... but it'd be awesome if they manage to find other stuff to cram in there as well (such as even better noise handling in the higher ISOs and/or even higher than 12800, hopefully even faster AF, etc)

Get rid of the Print button and pick a feature...any feature.
The print button doubles as the Live View button, so at least it does have somewhat of a useful purpose now.

You will know that when Sony A900 comes out. ;)

Geez, why am I the first one to say pole dancers? Just think, your own models for G&N come free with the camera. Just remember, don't feed them after midnight.
