We were at 30,000 feet, the A340 above us was at 32,000 and
the A330 above that was at 34,000.

I assume you are a pilot and that was out the cockpit window? Awesome shot!!

It could have been taken out the sunroof ;)
Nice shot! You could even copy and paste more planes in if you want to play with it.

Ya, out the front window... I had just come back to the flight deck when the other
pilot pointed out these two other airplanes. I managed to get the email addresses
of the other crews and sent them copies of this picture as well.
I took several shots as the relative positions of our three aircraft kept changing, but
I think this is the best of the bunch.

Very cool perspective!
C'mon now though, admit it. You guys weren't tempted just a teeny bit to see who's jet was faster? :p

You must have doing the test drive.... Just see the pattern:
At 34,000 an A330
At 32,000 an A340
At 30,000 an A380 (A360 doesn't exist)

Well, actually we were all doing Mach .82, but it was funny that the aircraft kept moving
around in relation to one another. There was enough difference in the winds at each
flight level that we would go ahead for a while, then the 330, then the 340... eventually
though the 330 took off and the 340 as well and we were left behind...

...actually we were in a Boeing 767. "IF IT AIN'T BOEING, I AIN'T GOING!"

So you had to throttle back a bit (lot? :-) ) to get these then :-)
