I loaned a girl from my work a lens (kind of convinced her to do it) for her trip to recently. Anyways she misplaced the lend hood. Do I ask her to buy me a replacement, or is it my loss since I offered to lend the lens?

Any advice would be great. I also can't find a lens hood replacement anywhere on the net for a tokina 12-24 f4 :(

I want to sell the lens but ant to do it with the original hood.

A "friend" would offer to find, replace or reimburse you.

Perhaps she could make it up to you some other way. ;) Sorry about that, my mind's been in the gutter lately.

Buy one and hand her the receipt. Check on ebay, you may be able to buy yours back!!!

If she's a good friend, she'll ask you how much the replacement costs so she can give you the money. If you're a good friend, you'd thank her for her offer and refuse.

Now if she lost the LENS......

How about when she offers to pay, you say "how about we split the cost?"

Good luck!

It doesn't sound like she shoots all that regularly, so probably has no clue what a hood does. I wouldn't expect her to pay for it if I offered to give her the lens.

I f I borrowed the lens from you and lost the hood, I would make good on it. That's what decent people do.

......(kind of convinced her to do it).....

Since you said that, I wouldn't ask her to pay for it.

Did she mention she lost the hood? Did you ask her where the hood is? If the answers are no, perhaps she still has it and doesn't realize.
