I want to get a 1GB IBM Microdrive for my D60. I saw an ad for a Microdrive with or without an Adapter. What is the Adapter for?

When I bought mine, it came with a PCMCIA adapter.
You'll need it if you wanna connect the drive to your laptop computer.

The adapter allows you to read the microdrive from a PCMCIA slot in your laptop. If you already use an external card reader, most card readers will allow you to insert a microdrive and read it into your computer that way. Card readers that do the job run around $20-30.
