hey guys, coming to fathers day in australia coming up, im wanting to take a couple of edgey shots for him printed on high gloss of his car (360 F1 Spider).
Im thinking of a garage / out the front of a roller door with really dark and bright red (its red).
I have 2x500W strobes, plus 2x 580 EXII's all that can be set off remotely with PW's.
I am shooting with a 40D with (more than likely) my 24-70L (f2.8) or 17-40L (f4).
This is the "kind" of style im looking for, but not totally sure how to execute it so any help is much appreciated.

http://blog.themavenreport.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/05/ferrari_cali_575.jpg (i know this isnt a 360 either, but again smae style of lighting)
many thanks guys and happy to share results when done

Personally, I'd leave the flashes and boring graungy/garage backdrops to the 'tuned/jap/modified' cars. A Ferrari should be out there in the country on the windy roads.
My suggestion would have to be:
Leave flashes at home.
Leave before sunrise.
Find nice windy road with views
Clean car
Tripod
Take photo.
A bit like this, but better background and yours is a nicer colour to photograph!

1. Im thinking of a garage / out the front of a roller door with really dark and bright red (its red). That might work, but many here have tried here & failed, since it takes a while to learn to get everything right. As Dean suggested, try natures way first. Once the right light came along, it took 5 minutes to shoot this:
Some shots of Jim's '68 AMX (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=393917)

2. If you want to show something that you haven't personally shot, just post a link to it as there are © issues?

I do, but the 'client' has paid and so I cannot release larger sizes.
Sorry
