Stretching hard through chocking clouds... struggling for altitude... engine screaming... gasping... Soaring for blue.

I'm not too sure about the hard edges to the clouds at lower left that grab my eye, but you do some nice work! Keep it up!

Your point about the SW quadrant clouds is well taken. However I purposely intended that oasis of blue/cloud break as part of the story... an area perhaps where the plane punched into its foggy place. It's as important to the story arc, I think, as the plane's trajectory.
