While taking a short break from my primary tour, I was able to shoot Grace Potter and The Nocturnals in their yearly “homecoming” gig at the Burlington, VT waterfront. For those who haven’t gotten a chance to see GPN, just go. I still think this is one of the most exciting and vibrant groups to come down the road in a long time. It won’t be much longer that you can catch them in smaller venues.
As always, critique and comments are encouraged.

The lake shot is way cool... Looks like a great place to hang out and enjoy the band... Real good action pics...

I love GP! I had actually just posted photos of them last night as well!

I see you had stage access though and i was stuck to being staionary in a GA venue with crappy lights.
1 and 3 are great, 2 is too dark I know what you are going after there but i just don't think it worked 100%, and #5 looks blurry?

Nice set of captures! Would have been nice to get a clean shot of her head and shoulders.

It is a wonderful place to see a show as long as the weather is fine...which it was. Last year the band went on stage a bit earlier and I had a glowing sunset bathing the stage with wonderful light and a photo pit all to myself for the whole show. This year it was a bit darker, the band did away with the photo pit and because the band invited me up on stage about 20 minutes before show time, I had to squeeze up front after the 1st song. Lucky for me a fancorps.com group, The Pottersville Posse (yeah...Grace Potter came from Pottersville, VT) made room for me...actually gave me anything I wanted in position front and center.

Thanks. I put 2 in there because it was different. It's almost too easy on the eyes to shoot Grace all night. 5 isn't blurry....just the reds that make it seem that way.

As per the above, it was hard to get a head and shoulders shot like last year. I will look in the archive and see what I can find. I'm sure I have at least one in there. No 300mm shots this time around.

1, 5 and 6 are my faves, esp 5 and 6. 2 is way too soft for a silhouette, and it looks like she's just tuning up as well.
