I won't bore you with details of everything that was wrong with this weekend. I'll just post some images instead...
1. The Under 2 litre Touring cars were rather nice.

I was really tempted to try the Gold Cup this year, shame about the poor numbers.
2 and 4 are easy fav's for me, the colours are very nice.

Excellent Geoff,and some lovely machinery.
Light looks to be good for a change,it just seems to be one big 18% grey card lately.
They are all good, hard to pick a winner.

Nice work, Geoff. I like these. I am particularly fond of that Lister but then you knew that ;) Good shot on the Surtees too!

I've changed my mind, THIS (http://gsh-motorsports.fotopic.net/p53072398.html) is the best one, good catch.

Can I ask what you thought was so bad? I thought it was a crackin' event with great racing, great cars and great fields (I mean cars in the race not the green things ;)) The only disappointment was the rally cars IMO.
Oh and great shots as ever!

#6 is an absolute peach Geoff - I like the composition on this one a lot with the tightly bunched leading cars and the others trying to chase them down in the background. Shame I couldn't get down to this event.
Look forward to seeing the shots from Monday!
Cheers,
Simon.

We had a walk around the paddock on Sunday morning and the lack of cars was a big surprise. I've seen more cars on a club event but Sunday was a lot better.

I think it's the first event i've done in months that has been largely free of heavy rain...at least during the day.
Nice work, Geoff. I like these. I am particularly fond of that Lister but then you knew that ;) Good shot on the Surtees too!
You like Listers?. I had no idea. You'll be declaring a liking for Lotus Sunbeams next.. ;)

Madge certainly wasn't wrapped in cotton wool. What the car lacked in pace the driver made up for in commitment.

I always enjoy the Tin Tops & GT's of whatever vintage Ian. I dare say i've mentioned before that Single Seaters don't really do it for me, but the F2's and F5000's on display would certainly be an exception to my little rule.

To try and put it in a Nutshell...
MSV told us we would not be permitted to watch the testing on Saturday and that the camp site would not open before 6pm. We all arrived between 5-30 and 6 to find the camp site packed - clearly the circuit had been open all day.
Add to that the non-functioning showers, lack of Security patrol to deal with drunken chavs shouting at 1am (MSV's rules state no noise after 11 as marshals and locals need their sleep) then on Monday they started 20 minutes early which meant that even though we arrived at the Lodge Crossing at 0840 we couldn't get over for the first race....oh and the food van over at Knickerbrook didn't sell coffee.

Monday's are in a new thread Simon although we stayed at Lodge far too long IMHO. If you decide to go next year i'd suggest a trip on Monday. It's not really worth shelling out for the weekend if they don't want you there on Saturday - even if you do arrive at 6pm to find you're the only ones who took any notice of the "rules".

Sorry i missed this from my reply earlier..
Just to clear something up i'm as far from being a pro as it gets. If i was i wouldn't have to do battle with Jurassic Park style fences..I just enjoy getting out at the weekend and pointing the camera at cars :)
Thanks to everyone for the comments though.

All very nice Geoff, here and in your Monday thread.
I think Madge gets my vote, simply because she's a bit unusual.

Unusual indeed but very nicely presented.

I didnt campover so I missed out on al the fun! It is shocking that they dont enfource security. I heard similiar storys from the BSB meets to.
How come they published a time table for Saturady if you werent allowed to attend?? It should say 'not open for public'. It is a shame that has ruined a great weekend for you!
