Hi Guys, new here. I have a SD750 that my pictures are blurry around the edges (just not sharp & crisp like the rest of the image). Is this normal for these cameras? Most of my pictures have been shot on the auto mode but I have tried some of the other settings but see no difference. What do you think?

I suggest you post one of your pictures so that we can see what you are talking about and check the EXIF info, and maybe figure out what's wrong.

Okay, here are two pictures. Notice how blurry especially the right side of the images are. This is very consistant with all my photos. Thanks for your help.

You are quite right - this is not normal and cannot be explained by simply focusing at the wrong distance etc.
Assuming that you haven't got something on the surface of the lens and its exterior surface appears uniformly normal, then I can only suggest that your camera needs repairing as something is probably out of alignment inside.

I sent it in for repair a month ago to the Best Buy Geek Squad...they said they "repaired the lens" but it still is no change. Maybe I need to send it directly to Canon. I have only had the camera for almost 9 months so I would think it would be under Mfr Warranty. What do you think? Any experience with Canon Repair?

Thanks for the replies. I plan on sending the camera in to Canon this week. I'll post the outcome.

I have an sd750, and as far as I can tell, the lens they put on it it inherently flawed.

smacafee, thank you for your pictures. That is exactly what I am experiencing. Anyone else have this camera and getting the same results? Do you think it's a characteristic of this camera?

I have had two lens assemblies on this camera and as far as I can tell, both have been equally bad.

Common or not, that's an atrocious fault, keep pestering canon about it.

hehe...I actually just posted about my SD870 doing the same thing...but on the left side here (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=566372). However, yours seems much worse than mine.

My wife and I just returned from a 2-week vacation in Dubai. My trusty SD750 recorded hundreds of photos at 2048 x 1536 resolution, so after reading this thread, I viewed these photos I had u/l to Photobucket and none illustrate the flaw described by the OP.
I'd be interested to know how widespread the issue the OP is having.
