JPEG or Bitmap?

Hi

I've just saved all my images from my A40 digital camera using PhotoDeluxe, and it's saved them in bitmap format. I want to print off some high detail pictures on photo paper, so I'd like to know if the picture quality suffers if it's a bitmap file compared to the original JPEG.

The bitmap (.bmp) format doesn't use any compression, whereas the JPEG format is a lossy-compression format (it "zips" the file to reduce filesize). You will not get any better quality with a bitmap from a JPEG original (nor any worse). The only thing you will gain is increased file size.
