Anyone here familiar with the Lake Minnewaska, NY region?

I have a week of vacation coming up and thought about taking a trip up there (from Long Island). I know there is a lot of waterfalls and outlooks that look amazing.

Now my question is getting access to the locations. Is the best bet to go to a local Bed & Breakfast and rent a offroad vehicles or something? Is there side roads that you can actually park on to get to these spots on foot?

I do have back and leg trouble, so I can't take a full hike out to them.

You can drive to some spots...but there are hikes to get to others. There is lots of info on the area on this site. http://www.lakeminnewaska.org/

If by "off road" vehicles, you mean ATVs/UTVs/Tricycles, then no....

But, bicycles and horses are allowed at Minnewaska.

There are parking lots throughout the park at the trail heads. I don't know everything about the park, so I'm not sure if there are "attractions" within a doable walking distance for you.

If you do get up there, try and get to see the Mohonk Preserve....it's quite beautiful....
