Took this at my sister-in-law's house yesterday. As soon as the fire was lit, their cat planted herself in front of it. Smart cat. :)

Critique and hints are most welcome. Hubby gave me a Digital Rebel for Christmas, and am still trying to get the hang of it.

a little out of focus, but like the composition
that cat must be freakin huge though!
when I first glanced at it I thought it was a golden retriever dog:)

Heh - it's a very fluffy cat, but also a small fireplace. :)

You're right that it's a little out of focus. I didn't have my tripod with me, so this was a hand-held shot. I didn't want to use the flash, so had to use a slower shutter speed. One of those times where it looked like a good shot, and I happened to have the camera right next to me.

Thanks for the input!

It's a very cozy scene, alright. I am new to the D-Rebel and trying to learn to make use of all the functions. Did you consider increasing the ISO to get a faster shutter speed? It's something I usually don't think of until too late.

Lissa -
Being a cat lover - and owner - I really like the 'cosy' photo: cats certainly know how to seek out comfort!

What a splendid gallery of some wonderful landscapes - thoroughly recommended for viewing!
Were these taken with your DRebel - I bought one (300D herein the UK!) in December and am very impressed.

Sparker, I hadn't considered that. Thanks for the tip - I'll remember it!

I don't mind the lack of sharpness as much as I usually would. It just makes me think warm "fuzzies".

*ducking*

Wow, you're right. Fantastic collection. Makes me think I need a sharper lens!
But are you sure the Devils Punchbowl, Oregon pics aren't actually Indian Beach?
