Foggy Catawba River

We had freezing rain last night and generally bad weather for the last two days. I decided to take my camera out this morning and see if I could find any nice photos. I got this picture from the banks of the Catawba River, NC. It was really grey today, not good for photos, but I think this one works.

I like it, and the boat adds interest for me. Where is it going on such a foggy, dreary day?

Thanks for the comments. I took a few without the boat. I think the boat really makes the shot come alive. Otherwise it's just a picture of some rather dead looking trees and muddy water. Here's one without the boat.

This isn't a fair comparison because I didn't do as good editting the pic without the boat. I think I slid the contrast up too high and turned the trees black.

I like it... I am suffering a cold this weekend and had to go photograph a wedding for a friend, so I didn't even bother to go out and capture yesterday (tootired). The fog never lifted and it was just too cold where I live, but it was gorgeous outside, we didn't get any freezing rain, just snow with a little sleet, wish I had time to get some before it melted off the trees this morning... I guess Charlotte got out pretty lucky this time. BTW... I like the one with the boat better too.. thats some hard core fishing...
