Scott "tasked" me with getting some flight shots while on my road trip... here's a couple for starters from Day #1.

RT Dark Morph (Cibola NWR, AZ) Cibola is about 40 miles past the Salton Sea. It's along the mighty Colorado River and is a pretty scenic place. We saw cranes, deer, geese, kestrel, and hawks. This guy flew off the phone pole and right by us - and fairly close too!

Beautiful shots! The first one is amazing - the head is lit perfectly and the catchlight is just killer.

Nice work. Thanks!

Beautiful pictures!! Although I love the first one for the picture quality, I love the second even more for the timing. The wings appear HUGE and cylindrical in shape. Very neat! ;)

Lazy Photographer obeyed the First Law of Wildlife Photography:

Go where the wildlife lives

Now we have to get a shot of a Great Gray Owl going up against a Red-tailed Hawk.
